Investment Thesis
sqrDAO is a builder-first community that invests in its own. We back founders who are active members of our network — people we've worked alongside, debated with at our events, and watched ship real products. We don't constrain ourselves to specific sectors. If a sqrDAO member is building it, we want to understand it.
Investment Stage & Check Size
sqrDAO focuses on pre-seed to seed stage investments, typically participating in rounds with a maximum check size of $50K. In most cases, we invest in projects founded or co-founded by sqrDAO members — builders we know personally through our community, events, and ecosystem. This means our due diligence starts long before a pitch deck lands in our inbox.
We look for companies that have:
- A working prototype or MVP with early user traction
- A clear go-to-market strategy and path to product-market fit
- Strong technical team with relevant Web3 experience
- A sustainable business model beyond token speculation
Geographic Focus
While we are open to exceptional teams globally, our primary focus is on startups based in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. We believe this region has:
- Exceptional technical talent at competitive costs
- Growing Web3 adoption and infrastructure
- Strong developer communities and builder networks
- Favorable regulatory environment for innovation
Who We Invest In
Our primary investment pipeline comes from within the sqrDAO community. We back members who have demonstrated commitment to building — through participating in our events, contributing to the ecosystem, and earning the trust of the network over time.
This doesn't mean we never invest outside the community. Exceptional founders building in Vietnam and Southeast Asia with a warm introduction from a member or portfolio founder will always get a serious look. But our edge — and our preference — is backing people we already know.
